One point in the last two games, a poor tally for Messina who cannot afford to stop in the race to catch up with the teams ahead of them in the standings. There isn’t too much to think about, there has been an awareness since the beginning of the championship of the type of miracle that needs to be accomplished to go beyond the 14-point penalty imposed on the club, a very heavy burden on the road to desperate salvation. Not even the calendar offers clemency, considering that after Nissa and Vibonese, two of the most accredited teams in the group, on the horizon there are the fearsome bells Gelbison (away) and Savoia (at home).
Messina must continue to try, putting everything aside, even going beyond the physical efforts without preparation that are felt. So it was in the last home round with Vibonese, which ended in a draw with the Calabrian team coming one step away from the ninetieth after Saverino’s initial lead: «Unfortunately in the last twenty minutes we dropped too low – admits goalkeeper Andrea Sorretino -, but in the episode of the goal conceded we were also unlucky. The first shot was deflected, then there was some bad defensive positioning but their attacker was good. On an athletic level there is no doubt that we are paying something, but it is also true that in the last phase we are facing medium-high ranking teams.
