The initiative, promoted and organized by the Roccaguelfonia Cristo Re Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Messina and the Metropolitan City of Messina, will officially start on Saturday 10 May and will end on Sunday 25 May. The event represents an important opportunity to rediscover the origins and historical-artistic heritage of the city, through the extraordinary opening of fourteen sites of cultural and monumental interest.

“It is an initiative that is renewed and consolidated – said Mayor Basile – offering citizenship and visitors the opportunity to get to know places often not very accessible, which tell the history and identity of our city. To support projects such as this means enhancing our heritage and strengthening the sense of belonging to the community. Councilor Caruso stressed:” This event was born from the synergy between associations, bodies, religious institutions, and testifies to the religious institutions. Culture may be an extraordinary tool for social cohesion and promotion of the territory. Each site tells a piece of Messina history, and reopening them to collective use is a concrete way to build memory and identity “.
