The death toll from the tragic road accident which occurred late yesterday evening in the Marinella area, in via Nucifero, on State Road 18, is one victim. For reasons still under investigation, two cars collided head-on and the impact left one of the two drivers with no escape.
The victim is called Ugo Caputo, born in 1954 in Rogliano (Cosenza). According to what was learned, after the crash the man got out of the car and called the police. After a while, however, he collapsed to the ground, lifeless, which is why his body was found outside the cockpit. The driver of the other vehicle involved was instead transported to the Lamezia Terme hospital where she is hospitalized at the Obi.
The site of the tragedy that took Caputo’s life was the scene of other dramatic accidents, including the one that cost the lives of eight cyclists from Lamezia in 2010.
