“We are faced with a very serious and security-relevant event”, which could outline “the scenario of a hybrid attack”. This was stated by the German Interior Minister, Alexander Dobrindt, speaking on the case of the drone in the Leipzig airport.
«We have already had experience of drone sightings – explained Dobrindt – but the arrival of a drone armed with explosives at an airport represents a new threat scenario».
According to the minister, the episode therefore marks a “new level” of danger in terms of the safety of German airport infrastructures.
