“The municipal administration intends to restore the regular functioning of the elderly centers in via Popilia, Donnici and Serra Spiga, entrusting their temporary management to a provisional committee that ensures its entertainment activities up to the adoption of a new regulation that must be approved as soon as possible”. The mayor says so Franz Caruso who thanked the councilor for welfare, Veronica Buffonefor the proposal brought to the attention of the last council and with which the municipal executive, chaired by the first citizen, approved, on the initiative of the councilor Buffone, the publication of a notice for the provisional re -disclosures of the citizens concerned at the elderly centers located in the offices of via Popilia, Donnici and Serra Spiga. “The need emerged – added Franz Caruso – to reaffirm the principles of correctness and transparency and to restore the elective democratic forms after a phase during which the elderly centers had crossed a period of uncertainty and confusion”.
The provisional management committee, as a single body at each location, which will remain in office until the adoption of the new regulation, will be made up of five members, identified among the oldest citizens registered in each of the three offices, which will accept the proposal. Each of the temporary committees will be attributed the operational and management functions of the three social centers for the elderly. It was also entrusted to the manager of the welfare sector with the task of executing the provisional procedures and to carry out the supervisory and control activity on the centers, as well as to prepare all the investigating documents for the adoption of the new regulation. Pending the adoption of the new regulation, there has been, in the current budget, an estimated expenditure commitment in 2 thousand euros for each of the three offices in via Popilia, Donnici and Serra Spiga. Commitment that, together with the members of the citizens’ re -registration (equal to 5 euros), can allow provisional operation to the adoption of the new regulation and the organizational reorganization of the offices.
The municipal administration has assessed the need to proceed with an update of the regulation, which dates back to 2018, which takes into account the changed conditions of human and financial resources and the advent of new national and regional regulations regarding the organization and welcome of centers and social structures. The opportunity to maintain provisional operational management and a functioning of the centers of the centers is motivated by the impossibility of not suspending the entertainment and inclusion activities of elderly citizens, the need, the latter, of indisputable social value.
