Elections in Messina, the Timbro-Musolino ticket to relaunch the Centre-left

Maria Flavia Timbro-Dafne Musolino. A female ticket for a Center-Left which, torn apart by internal controversies, is trying to get out of the ford and relaunch itself in view of the delicate electoral competition in Messina. Today the issue should be definitively resolved even if the conditional remains mandatory given what has been happening for weeks within the coalition, between names proposed and burned, sudden narrowings of the broad field and appeals for unity. With irony, the former Accorntino councilor Daniele Ialacqua defined the current phase of the Messina centre-left with a slogan: “Hard fight… without haste”.
The former Article One parliamentarian, who then moved to the Democratic Party after the Schlein turnaround, and current provincial deputy secretary of the Democratic Party, would be the candidate for mayor. Already in 2018 she was part of a ticket, as designated deputy mayor, with the prof. Antonio Saitta candidate for mayor.
Dafne Musolino, former councilor of the De Luca council and senator who passed through the ranks of Matteo Renzi’s party, was indicated by the national vice-president of Italia Viva Davide Faraone, who wanted her to be a candidate for mayor. But in these last hours an agreement seems to have been reached between the various components of the Center-Left, with the Democratic Party expressing the candidacy of Maria Flavia Timbro and Senator Musolino supporting her in the electoral battle.
