The elections for the new Fibs Regional President took place in Paternò on Sunday 19 February. He was elected Nino Micaliborn in 1962, who takes over from the outgoing one Michele Bonaccorsowho for over 16 years led the Regional Committee, which returned to being elective.
In the same electoral round the entire Regional Council was renewed. The names of the new directors: Michele Consiglio (CT), Antonino Torrisi (Paternal), Andrea Longhitano (Randazzo), Vittorio D’ Arrigo (ME).
The assembly took place in the presence of the National President Marco Mazzieri, recently elected to lead the FIBS. He was unanimously invited to preside over the Assembly. Extraordinary fact that demonstrates the federation’s interest in Sicily. And it cannot be ruled out that there could be some important news in the next few weeks.
At the center of the policies of this committee, as Nino Micali announced in his speech in the assembly, there will be: school, training, relaunching youth activity, and with a view to highlighting the centrality of Sicily at an international level, the sporting events, with the aim of restoring media visibility to the entire baseball and softball movement.
the four-year period 2025-2028 therefore promises to be full of opportunities and commitments for the FIBS Regional Committee. Over the course of this four-year period, the Mission is for Sicily to return to being at the center of international baseball and softball.
