EU, Princi appointed as President of the European Parliament Delegation for Relations with Central Asia

A few hours after taking office, an important recognition for the Calabrian MEP of Forza Italia Giusi Princemember of the EPP, designated as Chair of the European Parliament Delegation for relations with Central Asia.

“I thank the head of delegation Martusciello and the entire EPP who supported my nomination. This investiture will represent an important opportunity to strengthen relations between Europe and the countries of Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia.”

“This important delegation – continues the MEP – will invest me with further responsibility, will be a crucial instrument of parliamentary diplomacy, and will allow me to play a key role in the development and stability of the Asian continent with the aim of consolidating political and social relations in a strategic area rich in history and tradition, which has become central to questions of security and stability”. “I will commit to visiting the countries concerned – says the Honourable Giusi Princi – establishing diplomatic relations with the representatives of the highest local institutions, to strengthen bilateral relations between the EU and the countries of Central Asia”.

Furthermore, in the context of the definition of the parliamentary activity of the EPP in Brussels and Strasbourg, the Honorable Princi has been included in the Committee on Culture and Education, in the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality, and in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. “These are central committees – the MEP declares – in which I will commit to representing the demands of Calabria and the South for a Europe that is more supportive and closer to the territories”.
