Yet another fatal accident occurred during the night on State Road 106 in Pietrapaola (CS). A 27-year-old from Mirto Crosia, Samuel De Luca, lost his life. The crash occurred between a Fiat Multipla and a truck, while there were three people involved. In addition to the young victim, two seriously injured people were both pulled from the wreckage thanks to the intervention of the Fire Brigade. One of the two was transferred to Cosenza hospital in desperate conditions.
The volunteer organization Basta Vittime Sulla Strada Statale 106 expresses its “sincere condolences to the family”.
The community of Mirto mourns Samuel De Luca
The victim was called Samuel De Luca and was 26 years old. In the area he was also known for his commitment to five-a-side football as a player for Mirto Calcio a 5. In the morning the condolences of the Calabria National Amateur League also arrived. “The President Saverio Mirarchi, the regional manager of 5-a-side football Giuseppe Della Torre and all the members of the Board of Directors of CR Calabria, express – as read in a note which appeared on social media – their condolences for the tragic and premature death of Samuel De Luca and Samuele Danieli, players of Mirto C5 and Soverato Futsal respectively”.
Danieli died in the accident that occurred at dawn in Squillace on a tragic day for all of Calabria.
