Another pedestrian hit by a car along the streets of St. Teresa of Riva. In the latest accident, which occurred this afternoon, a minor was involved, with fortunately not serious results.
The unfortunate woman, 15 years old, around 3.30 pm was along Via Fratelli Lo Schiavo, in the Portosalvo district, and was crossing the roadway in the area on the south side of the streetnot far from the entrance from via Torrente Portosalvo, when suddenly it was hit by a Fiat “Panda” which was arriving in the direction of Catania.
The girl was hit in the side by the right front part of the car, so much so that the car’s headlight was shattered, and she ended up on the asphalt a few meters ahead, suffering minor injuries.
The man behind the wheel of the small car and some passers-by immediately helped her, before the “118” ambulance arrived from the city station. The 15-year-old remained conscious at all times and in the accident she suffered a non-concussive head injury, hip pain and various abrasions and, after initial treatment on site, she was transferred to the pediatric emergency room of the Messina Polyclinic for the necessary investigations.
The carabinieri of the S. Teresa di Riva station and the Taormina Company intervened in via Fratelli Lo Schiavo, who also led the way in the “118” call to the capital, and the local police.
