A fire broke out today in a bathing establishment of Sant’Alessio Siculo. The flames hit the Lido “Elibeach” around 6 pm, at the south of the country, fortunately without serious consequences.
The flames exploded on one of the prefabricated modules that make up the structure and have damaged the external walls and the roof, consisting of insulated panels, also affecting the internal rooms, intended for kitchen, closet and toilet in a mild way.
The owners of the plant attempted to tame the stake, but the flames extended very quickly and the intervention of the firefighters has been asked, arrived in a few minutes as a team of the Letojanni detachment was in the area returned from the intervention carried out on the A18 in Ali Terme.
The firefighters quickly turned off the stake, which according to the first investigations would have been triggered by an electrical failure, securing the seaside beach and avoiding that the flames extended to the adjacent structures. On the spot also the Local Police, which closed the southern stretch of the promenade to allow the intervention of the firefighters.
