A fire principle developed in the afternoon on the roof of the San Giovanni di Dio hospital in Crotone. According to a first reconstruction, to trigger the flames, it would have been a cigarette butt imprudently thrown by a window of the gynecology and obstetrics department and transported by the wind to the premises above the pediatric ward. Before the arrival of the firefighters, the ASP technicians intervened on the spot for a preliminary verification and to contain any critical issues. The prompt intervention of the Fire Brigade, alerted by the hospital staff, made it possible to resolve the situation without any consequence for patients, staff and hospital clubs. No damage has been recorded and the assistance activities continue regularly. The ASP highlights the importance of rigorous compliance with the safety rules, in particular of the ban on smoke inside and in the areas neighboring the hospital. Even if the causes of the female are still in the assessment phase, the company underlines the potential severity of the incident and has already started all the insights necessary to ascertain any responsibilities and prevent the repetition of similar episodes. Finally, citizenship is invited not to disseminate not verified news and maintain maximum tranquility.
