There are five centenarians in Naso, one of the oldest villages in the province of Messina, dating back to 1218 and whose territory was reduced in 1925 with the autonomy of Capo d’Orlando (until then a hamlet with the name of Agatirno), double the national average and out of a population, the latest figure, of 3454 inhabitants.
A record highlighted yesterday during “Bar Centrale”, the Saturday afternoon event on Rai Uno, hosted by Elisa Isoardi. Land of origin of Lady Gaga, whose general details are Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, whose surname has clear affinities with Naso and where some of her distant cousins live, here there is a Museum that displays the sculpted noses of famous Sicilians: from Archimede to Luigi Pirandello, from Franco Battiato to the American singer and actress herself.
The episode was enriched by the reflections of the four regular guests of “Bar Centrale”: Serena Bortone, Rosanna Lambertucci, Gigi Marzullo and Davide Rondoni. The connection with Naso began with the correspondent entering the bar chosen for the occasion and full of people, led by councilor Rosita Ferrarotto and with the display of a typical Sicilian product: cannoli.
