From 2.7 euros in Ancona to 5.7 in Milan. The price of a sandwich at the bar varies so much that, considering the main Italian cities, it costs on average around 3.8 euros. It is one of the examples that emerges from the Codacons survey on prices in 2025, developed based on data from the Mimit Observatory. In Bologna, beef costs more (on average 26.7 euros/kg), but the most expensive courgettes are those in Genoa (4.60 euros/kg), highlights the consumer association. For a filling at the dentist the expense ranges from the record in Aosta of 176 euros to 70 euros in Naples, and to wash the car 8.5 euros are enough in Ancona, but over 21 are needed in Bolzano, a city which also boasts the highest price for a cappuccino at the bar, 2.3 euros on average. To style your hair, it’s best to move to Naples: here a blow-dry costs on average less than 13 euros compared to 23.5 euros in the more expensive Bologna, while a haircut for women costs less than 15 euros compared to 30 euros in the more expensive Trieste.

For a leisure evening at the cinema it is better to choose Bari, where a ticket costs on average 7.3 euros: in Genoa to see a film in a cinema you need as much as 11.2. Surprisingly, Milan is the city with the lowest cost of the “shirt washing and ironing” service: on average 2.89 euros compared to 5.3 euros in Catanzaro and Ancona. The Codacons survey also examines expenses for animals: the most expensive dog grooming service is that of Aosta, 49.6 euros, compared to an average expense in Italy of 34.6 euros.
