Women’s Italtennis begins 2026 with two Italian players among the top hundred of the WTA ranking. Italian leader remains Jasmine Paolini: the 29 year old from Bagni di Lucca is stable in eighth place in the world. Behind her, Elisabetta Cocciaretto, now number 81, gains two positions, while Lucia Bronzetti recovers three places, returning to the race after dropping out of the top hundred at the end of October and is currently number 105.

Progress also for Lucrezia Stefanini, who rises to number 136 (+5), and for Nuria Brancaccio, now 161 (+6): the 25-year-old from Torre del Greco precedes Silvia Ambrosio, who recovers four positions and goes up to number 213. Three places also gained by Camilla Rosatello, now 215, while behind her Jessica Pieri grows, to number 226 (+4).
The very young Tyra Caterina Grant takes four steps forward: the 17-year-old Roman is now number 234. Closing out the Italian top ten is Lisa Pigato, who gains six positions, rises to number 271 and signs her “best” at the beginning of the year.

Aryna Sabalenka remains at the top of the rankings for the sixty-fourth consecutive week (the 72nd overall). The 27-year-old from Minsk, awarded in Riyadh as number one in 2025, maintains a 2,312 point lead over Iga Swiatek, second. The American Amanda Anisimova takes the third step of the podium, signing her personal best and overtaking her compatriot Coco Gauff, now fourth.
Elena Rybakina was stable in fifth place, followed by Jessica Pegula, sixth. In seventh place is Madison Keys, with just 99 points ahead of Paolini, eighth. Mirra Andreeva’s ninth place and Ekaterina Alexandrova’s tenth place also remain unchanged, confirming her “best” and closing the world elite.
