The Carabinieri of the Palmi Company intervened at a home in Sant’Eufemia d’Aspromonte, following a request for help from two Ukrainian women, victims of abuse in the family. The two, mother and sister of a 36-year-old man with whom they lived, reported that they had been insulted and threatened by the man. The suspect, already under house arrest since March 2024 for similar incidents, had begun to verbally attack the two women, sparking an argument after the sister refused to buy him a new cell phone. From threats, the man moved on to violencethrowing objects at both of them, forcing them to take refuge in a room of the house. Thanks to the timely call to the Carabinieri, the soldiers of the Sant’Eufemia Station intervened immediately following the “red code” protocol and proceeded to arrest the 36-year-old, who was then transferred to prison. The two victims, assisted by medical personnel and the Carabinieri, were invited to file a formal complaint.
