The soldiers of the Provincial Command of Crotone have executed a provision of conservative seizure – requested by the Regional Prosecutor of the Court of Auditors directed by Romeo Ermenegildo Palma on the initiative of the deputy general prosecutor Giovanni Di Pietro – in order to preserve, after the first instance sentence and slope of the terms of appeal, the tax credit ascertained of 34 million euros.
The precautionary measure, carried out against a voluntary association of Isola di Capo Rizzuto and its administratorsled to the seizure of homes, warehouses, agricultural land and financial appearances For a value of over 2.5 million euros and represents the epilogue of the investigations, carried out by the economic financial police unit, through which it was ascertained how the aforementioned directors have distracted public funds intended for the care of migrants, to encourage personal and third parties, including subjects belonging to the local gangscausing significant tax damage.
The insights requested by the accounting authority arise, in particular, from the elements that emerged in the context of the “Jonny” operation, coordinated by the District Anti -Mafia Directorate of Catanzaro which, in 2017, led to the detention of 68 suspects and the seizure of goods for over 60 million euros by shedding light, among other things, on the illegal conduct carried out through the aforementioned association, as a manager of the services provided in favor of the reception center for migrants Sant’Anna of Isola di Capo Rizzutofrom the top of the same. The latter, in fact, taking advantage of the huge financial resources from the contract contracts stipulated over time with public bodies, have applied and financed, through an articulated system of false invoices issued by the complacent subcontracting companies of the catering service, the local gangs of ‘Ndrangheta.
