«Laughing stock of Calabria. Shame!”: this is what the people of San Giovanni say after the new administration was the protagonist of two sui generis council meetings. The first on 7 July, when the new mayor designated the new council, and the second last Thursday, when the limit was reached following 10 questions, after the Assize had only “spoken” administrative language for a while, such as scrapping of taxes, PEF tariffs, and Tari. Then the darkness, inside a clouded, dark and sad “ring”, which gave the image of a country in shambles; of barbarians, archaics: a sort of Guelphs and Ghibellines of the late Middle Ages. In short, politics no longer dwells here. That of proposing, of service, of ideas, and of comparison. Initially, as a “lame duck” administration, San Giovanni was compared to Catanzaro. As the days passed, the comparison with the Calabrian capital appeared sacrilegious. The truth is that, first of all, Ambrogio and Barile must tone down. Above all, Ambrogio “wears out” Barile and accepts defeat. Made hot after his 10 lists in the first instance had over 60% of the votes, while he stopped with 1400 votes less.
