There are 37 hunger dead children in the Gaza strip starting from 1 July. This was reported by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), reports Tass, during a meeting of the United Nations Security Council.
“The humanitarian conditions are more than horrible,” said the agency spokesman Ramesh Rajestham, “frankly, we no longer have words to describe them”. Rajestham stressed that the number of deaths from hunger is increasing, especially among children with severe malnutrition. “From the escalation of hostilities in October 2023, the health authorities of Gaza have documented the death of 98 children from serious acute malnutrition – 37 only from 1 July – just over a month ago. Therefore, this is no longer an imminent food crisis: this is hunger, pure and simple, “said the OCHA spokesman.
