Prescriptions not illustrated or taken into account but only mentioned, a path of participation not taken into consideration, a state of fact significantly different from that based on the resolution and the risk of creating, through direct and indirect privatizations, a further worsening of the situation of saturation and overtourism that characterizes the relationship between the city and its sea.
These are, in a nutshell, the observations and oppositions that the “Civic Committee for Public Goods of Giardini Naxos” association has filed to request substantial changes to the “Plan for the use of state-owned and maritime areas” (Pudm) “Accessible Naxos: the path to inclusion”, adopted on 3 November by the extraordinary commissioner with the powers of the city council.
A detailed 21-page document, with reports, images, maps and diagrams, which the association chaired by Giovanni Bucolo, which included the previously created “Public Beaches Civic Committee”, sent to the commissioner and, for information, to the regional department of Territory and Environment, Territorial Structure of the Environment of Messina, Superintendence, mayor and secretary.
