An evening made of emotions, twists and turns and a pinch of Calabrian sweetness. The protagonist is Giovanni, a postman of Amantea, who landed in the Rai studies of “Tuo Affari” to play luckbut ending up giving the public much more than a simple game. Symbol of his gastronomic identity, he brought his Susumelle to transmission, typical sweets of the Calabrian tradition, become the real “mascot” of the episode in a moment.
Next to him, to warm his hearts, grandmother in the exceptional escort, who at the beginning of the game said: “I came to play and I find myself in love”, letting himself be conquered by the charm of the Apulian competitor, affectionately nicknamed “the president”, with whom he then danced a romantic basket between laughter and applause.
Giovanni’s journey in the game began with some uncertainty, fishing several red packages, but keeping the podium intact. The central phase saw a change of course: a series of blue parcels has rebalanced the scoreboard, bringing the game on more promising tracks. The offers of the “doctor” began to climb, going from 38,000 to 42,000 euros, until the first real disappointment: the much dreamed of 300,000 euros were hidden in the package of Sicily.
John, however, did not lose heart. He continued with courage, remaining faithful to his package number 2, refusing both checks and exchange proposals. Until the ending, when he decided to replace his package with the number 13 (from 200 thousand euros!). 100 euros remained at stake, 10,000 euros and 200,000 euros, the doctor made his move: 35,000 euros on the plate. An offer that Giovanni chose to accept, closing the game between the applause.
A wise and winning decision: in the final package there were no 200 thousand. The Calabrian pastry chef, a proud ambassador of the Susumelle, left the study with a smile, with an important win and with the heart – and the public – conquered.
