Sofia Goggia is third in the first super-G of the Olympic World Cup season. In Sankt Moritz in Switzerland, the Italian achieved her second podium of the season after the one the day before in the downhill. The fastest on the ‘Corviglia’ track was the 24-year-old New Zealander Alice Robinson (1’14″84) with her seventh career victory, the third this season and the first in super-G. Second at eight hundredths was the French Romane Mirandoli, third Goggia at 19.
For the skier from Bergamo, this is the 64th podium of her career, the twentieth in super-G. The American Lindesy Vonn, who two days ago had won the first downhill race in Sankt Moritz at the age of 41, finished fourth, 27 hundredths behind the winner. Good result for the Italian team with Elena Curtoni sixth at 53 hundredths, and Laura Pirovano eighth at six tenths.
