On the economic and social front, the prime minister demands interventions on the cost of fuel, measures for employment and the fight against the desertification of historic centres, also reiterating a pragmatic approach on the climate against “ideological environmentalism”, she explains.
The Prime Minister’s words on Vannacci
Having defined the Vannacci case as “an operation built to favor the left”, Meloni defends the executive’s actions also in view of the 2027 deadlines: “No one can accuse me of sparing myself”. From institutional commitment the story then moves on to the personal sphere, to the accumulated fatigue (“The tiredness is there and I feel it”) and to the relationship with his daughter Ginevra, with whom he seeks “slow time and normality” away from the spotlight.
Parental worries
The prime minister confesses to “Chi” the difficulty in answering the little girl’s most intimate questions (“When she asks me why work comes before her, it makes my heart feel like a peanut”) and expresses strong concern as a parent about the impact of artificial intelligence and social media on young people. The prime minister also responds to the criticism of those who are surprised to see her traveling on official occasions with her daughter in tow: “My counterparts are amused, but the best reaction is that of the other women I meet, who give me a nod of understanding. It’s a language that doesn’t need translation. If this image tells a girl that she doesn’t have to choose between being a mother and having a career, I’m happy that it shows,” she concludes.
