Green light from the Provincial Supervisory Commission for the opening of the Curva Sud of the Granillo Stadium on the occasion of the first home match of Reggina 1914. The mayor of Reggio Calabria Giuseppe Falcomatà announced the news in a note thanking the representatives of the Authorities and the technicians who examined the safety interventions in the sector of the stadium, the historic home of the Amaranth supporters.
“Thanks – said the mayor – to the deputy metropolitan mayor Carmelo Versace and the delegate for Sport Giovanni Latella, who together with the technicians of the Public Works Sector of the Municipality, have followed the matter personally in these days, allowing us to achieve the result”.
“Let it be a good omen – added the mayor – for our Reggina that after the away victory on the first day is now preparing to debut at the Granillo, finally supported by the support of our fans. The Granillo Stadium in recent months has been greatly improved through interventions useful for increasing the safety conditions and comfort for spectators, with particular attention to people with disabilities. And the work on the new swimming pool behind the Curva Sud is also progressing. The opening of the South Sector for the start of the championship – concluded Falcomatà – is a further step forward that we hope can also be a stimulus to the sports project, so that our team can soon return to tread the most prestigious stages it deserves”.
