Almost half a million voters and 77 Municipalities voting, but only five (with a population exceeding 15 thousand inhabitants) with the double-round proportional system: Reggio Calabria, Crotone, Castrovillari, San Giovanni in Fiore and Palmi where, however, there cannot be a run-off (scheduled for 7 and 8 June) unless the two candidates obtain the same number of votes. No ballot even in Cirò Marina and Taurianova, which fell below 15 thousand residents during the 2021 census.
A quarter of the Municipalities involved in today’s and tomorrow’s administrative session (18 out of 77) go to the vote before the natural deadline, in two cases (Tropea and Cerva) following the dissolution due to infiltration by organized crime. There should have also been a vote in Carlopoli and Savelli, but the vote was skipped because all the lists presented were excluded by the competent electoral commissions.
