Senior Hamas official Izzat Al-Rishq said the six Israeli prisoners found dead in a tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip were killed by Israeli air strikes. Al Jazeera reports. Al-Rishq also blamed the United States for its “bias, support and partnership” in the 11-month war against the besieged territory. One of the prisoners was a dual US-Israeli citizen, while another was a Russian-Israeli.

The official said Hamas cares more about the lives of its prisoners than Biden does, noting that “the group accepted his proposal and the UN Security Council resolution. Netanyahu rejected them and his administration gave in to the prime minister’s demands, which were aimed at hindering a deal to maintain his power,” al-Rishq said.
