He continued to attack his mother even in the presence of the police officers who intervened. It happened in Corigliano Rossano, in the province of Cosenza, where a 51-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto for mistreatment in the family against his cohabiting mother. The police officers intervened after a call about a heated argument in the family. When the police arrived they immediately heard screaming from outside.
Once they reached the building they found the door open and a man, with visible alterations presumably caused by alcohol and drug intake, intent on throwing a punch in the direction of a glass door placed between some rooms of the house.
The officers also noticed the presence of the man’s mother, who was very scared. In these circumstances, the 51-year-old violently punched the glass door, breaking it and subsequently threw himself at the woman, who had already previously been attacked, who suffered personal injuries.
The police intervened immediately to stop him. But the man, regardless of the presence of the police, continued to threaten her with phrases such as “I’ll make you pay tonight” and attempted several times to attack the woman with the intent of physically attacking her. The worst was avoided thanks to the presence of the police. The woman then told the officers that the physical and verbal attacks had been going on for some time. The man was arrested and taken to Castrovillari prison.
