In recent days, the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the CC Company of Rende carried out some services in the hinterland of the Municipality, where various checks were carried out.
In this context, on 25 October 2025, a person was arrested in the act of committing the crimes of illicit possession of large quantities of narcotic substances of various types and illegal possession of a common firearm.
During a house search, inside a house in the possession of the arrested person, the soldiers of the Carabinieri found and seized:
- marijuana for a total gross weight of approximately 2kg;
- hashish for a total gross weight of approximately 3 kg;
- cocaine for a total gross weight of 500 grams;
- “live rosin”, a substance constituting concentrated cannabis, for a total gross weight of 47.60 grams, together with material for weighing and packaging the drug in doses;
- a handcrafted greenhouse, complete with accessories, for growing marijuana;
- a drum pistol of probable foreign manufacture;
- numerous ammunition of various calibers;
As a result, the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Cosenza requested the validation of the arrest and the application of a personal precautionary measure, which was adopted by the investigating judge at the Court of Cosenza on 29 October 2025.
