In reality, the circular that yesterday the councilor Giovanna Volo and the general manager Salvatore Iacolino sent to all the managers is a way to grant extra time in the challenge to obtain as many administrative and health director seats as possible. The new deadline to complete the map of power in Sicilian health care it has been postponed to September 2nd.
If an agreement is not found within that date in the center-right, the managers will have to choose their deputies in total autonomy, as the law requires. Drawing from the two lists in which the aspiring health and administrative directors who passed a special selection a year ago were collected. Numbers in hand, it would not be a difficult choice. The positions to be assigned are 40: two for each Policlinico, Asp and hospital (which are 18 in total) plus the 4 of the Zooprophylactic Institute and Cefpas. In reality, however, the three Policlinico have already completed the nominations and in some Asp, as in a couple of hospitals the directors in office will see their contracts expire in 2025.
So, it is the calculation made in the center-right, there are “only” 30 positions assignable at this stage. And in the two lists there are respectively 57 and 65 candidates, even if not all of them are really available because in the meantime they have found other positions.
