The snow at the end of November and the heavier snow at Christmas marked the celebration in the two Sila tourist resorts of Lorica and Camigliatello. Yes, because it is a celebration, since the snow brings joy, colours, lights, rainbows, and… holidaymakers. And there is already a full house of tourists with a full house both on the banks of the Arvo and on the slopes of Fago di Soldato. Between mythology and legend, some elderly Sangiovannese people told how, after the inauguration of the Arvo, at vespers, every first Monday of the month, a fairy appeared on the waters: beautiful, with long hair, and with her eyes raised to the sky: «Everyone they understood that it was a premonitory sign of Heavenly support.”
This year the fairy tale of having returned in the form of heavy snowfalls that have whitened the entire Apenninesor. In Camigliatello the Sila train to San Nicola-Silvana Mansio is guaranteed, a journey that is a unique emotion. Suggestive. Since yesterday the “Cavaliere” chairlift in Lorica also opened its doors with the slope. A facility ready to welcome all winter sports enthusiasts. Lots of snow and leaden skies with ongoing precipitation meant that the preparation works on the return slope, on the Valle dell’Inferno 1 slope and on the Valle dell’Inferno 2 slope were brought forward. The tour operators and the facilities administrator have expressed gratitude to both the president of the Region Roberto Occhiuto and the councilor Gianluca Gallo “for the constant commitment and attention paid to the relaunch of winter sports”.
