Ghost -journey in the sea of Stefano d’Arrigo’s literature “will be a unique event: The show that stages the epic journey of ‘editor’s note Cambria on the Strait was presented yesterday at the press conference at the Navy of Neptune of Messina, just a few steps from those waters furrowed by the character created half a century ago by the author, born in 1919 in Alì Terme, in the Ionian province.
The celebration of the anniversary of the first drafting of the monumental work, with The unpublished stage setting in preview on Sunday 22 June at 20.30, will be one of the central moments of the Taobuk Festival, scheduled from 18 to 23 June next to Taormina: to illustrate the details Antonella Ferrara, president and artistic director of the Festival-who highlighted the profitable result of a cultural and organizational synergy between public and private-, Paolo Verri, general manager of the Arnoldo Foundation and Alberto Mondadori, Orazio Micali, director of the Archaeological Park of Naxos-Taormina, Pietro Franza and Lorenzo Matacena, CEO of the Caronte & Tourist group. Representing the Municipality of Messina intervened by the Councilor for Culture Enzo Caruso, with the coordination of the journalist Caterina Rita Andò, head of the press office of the Festival.
Max Casacci, leader of the Subsonica, Paul Gep Cucco and Davide Livermore, intervened in connection, to describe the powerful and imaginative suggestions of the transmedia show, in which words, videomapping images will mix (made by D-Wok with changes of textures, digital waves, 3D effects, surface movements, illustrations created by AI), music and digital sounds in an extraordinary one Site Specific journey, specifically created for the Taorminese theater.
Horcynus Orca, among the most original works of the second half of the twentieth century, tells the tormented return home, in Messina, of the soldier ‘editor’s note after 8 September 1943. The narrative will be reconstructed thanks to the music of Casacci, who will perform live the sounds of the orcas and the Mediterranean. On stage with him, to read the most poignant pages, Caterina Murino and Linda Gennari, with another exceptional reader: Vinicio Capossela, and the friendly participation of Livermore. The text of the show was adapted by the book by Andrea Porcheddu, Claudio Collovà and Eliana Rotella.

The show will be the culmination of a rich program that Taobuk and the Mondadori Foundation have created to celebrate the novel, full of symbolisms and deeply linked to the places of the Strait and their culture.
