Following a report from a local association, the Longobardi Forestry Carabinieri intervened following a spill of sewage waste into the Peschiera stream within the municipality of Falconara Albanese. Having carried out the necessary checks, it was found that there was, adjacent to the discharge point and hidden by vegetation, a well dedicated to the municipal sewer pipe at the base of which there was a concrete pipe in addition to the main one that flows into the Peschiera stream and which spilled turbid and bad-smelling water. Therefore, as ordered by the Paola Prosecutor’s Office, the unauthorized concrete pipe at the base of the manhole and underground leading to the discharge into the stream was seized and the technical manager of the Municipality of Falconara Albanese was reported for the crime of abandonment or uncontrolled storage of waste and illicit management of the same.
Another activity saw the Longobardi military engaged in the municipality of Amantea where, following identification by drones in the so-called “Zero Tolerance” campaign of the Calabria Region, the illicit burning of waste was ascertained in two cases in the “Formiciche” area, which led to the referral of two people for the crimes of abandonment, uncontrolled storage and illicit burning of waste.
