Briatico and Tropea are hosting the “Concert for Life,” two events that aim to promote organ donation and road safety. These concerts, organized by the associations Aido-Gruppo “Tania Conocchiella” of Briatico and “Paola e Dario” of Tropea, will be held respectively on August 6 in Piazza Guglielmo Marconi in Briatico and on August 7 at the amphitheater of the tourist port of Tropea, both at 9:00 p.m.
Event Objectives
The initiative aims to raise public awareness of the culture of organ, tissue and cell donation, as well as promoting road safety. The concerts are free and open to the public, and will be attended by civil, school and military authorities, as well as the President of the Region and the regional transplant coordinator. This double event also aims to educate about lifestyles that can prevent diseases for which transplants are necessary.
Music Program
The Calabria Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Fabio Conocchiella, will present a musical program that includes:
- “Elegy of Light”: an original composition by Fabio Conocchiella, presented in its world premiere.
- Symphony No. 3 op. 55 “Eroica” by Ludwig van Beethoven: one of the composer’s most famous works, renowned for its grandeur and historical significance.
