In Messina water is cheaper. But over half are still lost

Messina is the second least expensive city in Sicily, after Catania, in terms of water service rates. The data emerges from the latest Federconsumatori report on water management in Sicily, a report from which it clearly emerges – as we report on page 13 – that public management still represents, today, a guarantee of savings for the end user.
The costs were calculated for a typical family of three people, with two consumption hypotheses: 150 cubic meters per year (a quantity for which the national average cost is equal to 415.01 euros) and 182 cubic meters per year (and here the national average is 527.53 euros). In this context, Messina is decidedly below the national average, but also below the Sicilian average.
