Index of quality of institutions, in Calabria the regional territory is struggling

Is it possible to measure the quality of institutions? Apparently yes. And Calabria is not doing well. These are not political parameters or relationships between investments and results. But of the Institutional Quality Index (IQI) created by the Federico II University of Naples and that of Sannio, which is based on five indicators: rule of law, government effectiveness, civic participation, quality of regulation, control of corruption. The data was “translated” by the Observatory on Italian public accounts of the Catholic University of Milan, directed by the economist Carlo Cottarelli. The period taken into consideration is 2004-2023. Calabria occupies the penultimate position, followed by Sicily.
