Inferno 2026, the preview and debut of the “record show” at the Alcantara Gorge on the 21st and 23rd

The complete program of shows of Dante’s Inferno 2026 edition, as part of the Alkantia project, has been announced by Buongiorno Sicilia. It will begin on Tuesday 21 July with the usual preview for the Press and the Authorities. Then, Thursday 23rd, the debut, with two shows per evening, at 8.30pm and 10pm, until Sunday 26th July, and then from 30th July to 2nd August, from 6th to 12th of the same month and from Thursday to the following Wednesday. The performances will resume on Monday 17th to continue until Sunday 23rd. In the last two weeks the appointments are scheduled from Wednesday 26th to Sunday 30th August and, on the same days of the week, from 2nd August to 6th September.

Meanwhile in Catania, rehearsals continue directed by Giovanni Anfuso who signs the dramaturgy and direction of Hellwith a cast of twenty performers and names of the caliber of Davide Sbrogiò, Liliana Randi and Giovanna Mangiù. And not only that.

“I have already interpreted – said Salvo Piro – the character of Virgil. Dante’s guide, included among the great spirits born before Christ and therefore not baptised, is a symbol of human reason and leads him through Hell until the poet comes out in see the stars again”.

“I on the other hand – added Ivan Giambirtone – debut in the role of Ulysses, condemned by Dante to the Underworld not only for deceptions like the Trojan Horse, but also for having tried to overcome, with the crazy flightthe limits imposed by God on human possibilities”.

Among the other actors involved in the rehearsals are also Davide Pandolfo – who plays “the greedy Ciacco who, condemned to remain in the mud of the third circle, knows well how to foresee the future of a Florence with very few righteous people and tormented by pride, envy and avarice” -, William Caruso in the role of Farinata degli Uberti, “Ghibelline hero who emerges from his fiery tomb to deny, as a spirit, the immortality of the soul”, and Federico Fiorenza who plays the “Dear devil with eyes of fire to whom Virgil addresses the famous verse: This is what you want there where you can do what you want. Among the other protagonists also Peter Passalacqua, in the roles of Paolo, Diomede and Cardinal Ruggieri.

The director has announced that he will reveal the name of Dante’s interpreter when the rehearsals begin on July 13th. in the suggestive scenery of the Alcantara Gorges, a small Eden with unique characteristics in the world. Meanwhile, the damned – Chiara Di Giovanni, Giulia De Marzi, Alessia Linguaglossa, Marta Marino, Gaia Palmeri, Lucio Rapisarda, Francesco Rotatore, Emiliano Sgroi, Gloria Trischitta and Federica Zuccarello – continue to rehearse, in Catania, the choreographies of Fia Distefano, to the music of Nello Toscano. It should also be remembered that the costumes of the show are designed by Riccardo Cappello, the scenic elements by Silver Ruggeri, the light designer is Davide La Colla and assistant directors Micaela De Grandi, Valentina Ferrante, Davide Pandolfo and Lucia Rotondo.

The distribution of postcards with a QR code that allows you to watch films and read notes on the show in six languages ​​is also having great success.
