A determined Crotone won the Italian Cup round by narrowly beating Foggia thanks to the penalty converted by Gomez in the 33rd minute of the first half. Longo’s team starts with personality and builds play from the first minutes, coming close to taking the lead with Zunno and Berra. Foggia responds with Ilicic, but Sala is attentive. The sharks grow and, after some good opportunities from Gomez and Guerra, they break the deadlock with the penalty won by Piovanello. At the end of the first half Berra again comes close to doubling the lead with a header. In the second half the match remained balanced: Buttaro and Garofalo attempted from distance, but it was Crotone who became the most dangerous with Stronati and Gomez, who narrowly missed doubling the lead. Maggio comes close to scoring with a left-footed shot, while in the final round Sala saves the result on Fossati, confirming the deserved victory of the rossoblù, who in the next round will face the winner between Sorrento and Trapani away tomorrow afternoon.
