Jannik Sinner can meet Matteo Berrettini in the round of 16. This is one of the main ideas that emerged from the draw for the men’s draw of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia 2026, which took place in the setting of Piazza del Popolo. The Italian number one in the world will make his debut in the second round against the winner between Sebastian Ofner and Alex Michelsen. In his path, a possible third round with Jakub Mensik and, looking ahead, an eighth round that could turn into a derby with Berrettini, inserted in the same segment. Further ahead, on Sinner’s horizon, also Arthur Fils in the theoretical round of 16 of the section, Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals and a semi-final with Felix Auger-Aliassime. Possible rematch in Madrid against Alexander Zverev in the final.

In the lower part of the scoreboard, the one presided over by the number 2 seed, Lorenzo Musetti is expected by a possible eighth with Jiri Lehecka and a possible fourth against Novak Djokovic. Flavio Cobolli ends up in Daniil Medvedev’s eighth and Auger-Aliassime himself in the fourth, while Luciano Darderi, in Alexander Zverev’s eighth, is projected towards a possible third round with Tommy Paul. The picture of the Italians is completed by Lorenzo Sonego, Luca Nardi, Matteo Arnaldi and the other Italians on the draw, distributed in the four quarters between matches with qualifiers and already demanding first matches. The women’s draw is also defined in Piazza del Popolo, in the presence of Iga Swiatek.
Among the Italians, an immediately challenging debut for Lucrezia Stefanini against Jelena Ostapenko, while Lucia Bronzetti will face the American McCartney Kessler. Italian derby between Lisa Pigato and Tyra Grant, with Elisabetta Cocciaretto expected from a qualifier. The group will be led by Jasmine Paolini, seeded number 9, who will benefit from a bye in the first round and will make her debut against the winner between Jaqueline Cristian and Beatriz Haddad Maia. The picture is completed by Martina Trevisan, opposite Talia Gibson, and Jennifer Ruggeri against Zeynep Sonmez, in a scoreboard which for the Italians immediately offers insidious crossings but also the possibility of advancing.
