A day of celebration for Messina, an extended jubilee, which involved choirs and families in the same afternoon. In the cathedral, around 400 singers from the parishes of the city and the province; in the church of Santa Caterina about 200 people, including couples with children and other family members. Two physical spaces, a unique journey of hope, which became singing, prayer, sharing. The processions, which started from the respective squares, the Duomo and Santa Caterina, the meeting with the archbishop Giovanni Accolla and the auxiliary Cesare Di Pietro. Testimonials of the two gatherings – organized by the Basilica Authority with the diocesan choir Santa Maria della Lettera directed and accompanied by the maestros Nazzareno De Benedetto and Don Giovanni Lombardo and by the Diocesan Family Office directed by the spouses Franco Decembrini and Luisa Baldini with the reality of the Renewal in the Spirit – Francesco Meneghello, composer of the official Jubilee Hymn, and Fra Marco Vianelli, director of the National Office for the Pastoral Care of the Family. A reflection during which the value of liturgical singing was reiterated on the one hand, a ministry that requires spiritual as well as vocal care, and on the other the family, a hotbed of relationships and fraternity, a great example for the Church, as underlined by Brother Vianelli.
