Winning debut at the Allianz Stadium for Spalletti’s Juve, who beat Cuesta’s Parma 2-0. The unexpected protagonist of the evening is Nico Gonzalez, who came on during the second half: Koopmeiners also scored late on, also coming off the bench. Spalletti’s men thus make it two out of two in the championship, taking home the three points against a grim and compact Parma and catching Milan at the top of the table, with full points.
The bet on the David-Kolo Muani couple
Compared to the match against Frosinone, Juve has an important lineup change. In fact, to cure the goal-scoring problem, the Certaldo coach is betting on the David-Kolo Muani pairing at the start. The two Juventus forwards, however, were not available for long stretches of the match: furthermore, in the second half, at the time of the substitution, David left the pitch surrounded by whistles from the Stadium.
Conceicao’s post in the first half
In the first half Conceicao was the most dangerous man for the home team. In the 33rd minute, in fact, the Portuguese winger hits the post to the left of Corvi with a powerful low shot from 30 metres. Conceicao’s opportunity equalizes the one Parma had in the 13th minute, when Ordonez had badly sent a sloping ball wide in the penalty area.
Nico Gonzalez’s goal and Vicario’s miracle
In the second half, Juve upped the pace and began scoring goals, two of which, however, were trashed by David and Kolo Muani. Nico Gonzalez came on in place of the Canadian in the 57th minute, having returned from his spell at Atletico Madrid: a few minutes after his introduction, the Argentinian immediately challenged Corvi with a splendid volley. In the 62nd minute, however, after an initial shot from the edge that hits the post, Gonzalez is quick to recover the ball and kick a second time, finding the decisive deflection from Troilo which displaces Corvi for the 1-0.
Parma were not discouraged and tried to respond immediately in the 64th minute: on Romero’s header, however, Vicario stretched out and miraculously removed the ball from the target, earning an ovation from his fans.
Koopmeiners closes the accounts, now it’s Milan
At the end of the match the hosts sealed the result, thanks to the goal of the substitute Koopmeiners, whose low shot from the edge left Corvi with no time to react. This victory allows Juve to reach Milan with full points: the two teams will meet again next day. For Parma, however, a second defeat and a still immaculate record.
