Mayor Mario Murone is not having easy days as he has to deal with a tug-of-war between the parties for the appointment of the two missing councillors. The real obstacle to the decree appointing the new councilors is in fact the failure to comply with the legislation on gender equality (female quotas). In fact, the Delrio law requires that neither sex can be represented in the Council by less than 40%, which means that with the departure of two women, the mayor is obliged to include at least one female profile so as not to make the appointment illegitimate and open to challenge before the TAR.
