«I never anticipate the government’s measures, we have two meetings of the Council of Ministers: one tomorrow and one on Thursday 30 April. At that time we will evaluate what to do on the energy front. In the meantime we are working at the European level so that energy, which is the front line, is the one in which States can use resources to provide a response to the production system and families”. This was said by the Minister of Business, Adolfo Urso, on the sidelines of the presentation of SaMoTer in the Senate, when asked about the fact that the extension of the cut in excise duties on fuel will expire on 1 May and what measures are being studied by the government.
«The front line is energy – he added – but behind it there are other problems, equally important, if the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz were to persist, such as those of the supply of critical materials fundamental for some production chains. We ask Europe to provide us with the tools, to free us from the constraints that today prevent us from acting as we should in a suitable time and with the necessary methods to deal with what is a great emergency”.
