The press conference was called for Monday afternoon, but for days there has been chatter waiting for a moment which, somewhat surprisingly, perhaps not, should prove to be a harbinger of clarity regarding the “health” of the municipal coffers. Yes, because the former mayor Paolo Mascaro, as has been written several times, said he was leaving a healthy administration with assets of almost 35 million and almost 8 in free cash, while for weeks the new economic situation of the Municipality has seen a debt situation which has already caused urgent budget changes with cuts to various expenses. A “short circuit” that risks confusing the citizens who, as happens in these cases, demand an explanation from many sides.
While waiting for Monday, Mascaro has meanwhile answered some of our questions on what to expect. «The press conference was necessary as in recent days there have been many declarations and many positions taken regarding the economic-financial situation of the organisation; we believe it is appropriate to clarify and explain the state of things in a timely manner, journalists will be able to ask any question to clarify everything and avoid any misunderstandings from continuing to exist.”
