Lorica Lake 2026, the national stage of the Italian Swimming Federation’s open water swimming circuit, which took place on 11 and 12 July on the waters of Lake Arvo, in the heart of the Sila National Park, ended with a great success.

Over the two days of competition, around 150 athletes competed in the mile and 3 km events, in a natural setting that made the event a reference event for open water swimming at a national level.

The overall winners

Barbara Grillo took first place overall in the 3 km race, ahead of all the competing athletes, giving a high-level performance on the waters of Lake Sila. In the mile race, success went to Giuseppe Mazzuca.

The company podium

The team classification also offered interesting ideas, with the following company podium:

  • 1st place: AQA
  • 2nd place: Seniors
  • 3rd place: KR Swim

A sport in balance with the environment

The event was followed thanks to the synergy with Calabria Straordinaria and with particular attention also from an environmental point of view, in line with the sensitivity of the Calabrian territory towards the protection of its natural heritage. In this sense, the synergy with the sponsor CALABRA MACERI played an important role, for which respect for the environment represents a priority value, in perfect coherence with the naturalistic setting of the Sila National Park which hosted the event.
