President Rocco Colacchio on behalf of Confindustria Vibo Valentia expresses full satisfaction with the reconfirmation of Luca Giuliano, President of the Tourism Section of Confindustria Vibo Valentia, as a member of the national General Council of Confindustria Alberghi for the two-year period 2026-2028, following the mandate already held in the previous two-year period.
The reconfirmation represents recognition of the contribution offered during the association’s activity and strengthens the role of the territories in the processes of defining the strategic lines of the Italian hotel industry, in a phase of profound transformation of the tourism sector.
Over the last few years, Confindustria Alberghi has developed a detailed work of analysis and proposal on issues central to the competitiveness of the sector. Among the priorities on the agenda are the development of Higher Technical Institutes (ITS) dedicated to tourism, to strengthen training and respond to the demand for qualified skills; the Staff House programs, aimed at promoting housing solutions for workers in the sector; a more efficient and shared management of the tourist tax, overcoming the current role of operators as tax collectors; the extension of the ZES model to investments in digitalisation, training, redevelopment and expansion of structures; the implementation of the strategic agreement with Intesa Sanpaolo, which makes up to 10 billion euros available to support the growth of tourism businesses; and the valorisation of the territories, with particular attention to sustainability, identity and quality of the offer.
«The role of the councilors in Confindustria Alberghi – declares Luca Giuliano – is to contribute to the definition of analyzes and proposals starting from the concrete experience of the territories. Representing Calabria in a high-profile national context means bringing a vision oriented towards development, the quality of the offer and the competitiveness of the sector”.
The presence of Luca Giuliano in the national General Council is part of a broader strengthening of Calabrian representation within Confindustria Alberghi.
The Assembly was also an opportunity for discussion on the topic “Hotels: the challenge of competitiveness”with the participation, among others, of the President of CNEL Renato Brunetta, the Minister of Tourism Daniela Santanchè, the Delegate of the President of Confindustria for Transport, Logistics and Tourism Industry Leopoldo Destro and the President of Confindustria Alberghi Elisabetta Fabri.
The national councilor received congratulations from Unindustria Calabria which underlined the strategic importance of the hospitality industry as an engine of economic growth and development of the country. «Tourism – declared the President of the Calabrian Industrialists Aldo Ferrara – has a significant impact on the national economy, activating supply chains and employment.
The challenge is to transform this strength into structural and lasting growth, improving the quality of the offer and enhancing the territories.”
