The sentences of four years and six months of imprisonment each issued by the Court of Cassation against 42-year-old Annalisa Santaguida and her 20-year-old son Giulio Simonetta, both residents of the Portosalvo hamlet, become definitive. Kidnapping, carrying and illegal possession of weapons, robbery and injury are the crimes for which mother and son were held responsible. The aggravating circumstance of cruelty was also contested.
The victim was a 36-year-old from Mileto (Vv), lured into a chat by the woman in November 2023 with the invitation to spend an evening together. Once he entered the woman’s house, the 36-year-old was stunned with a stick blow to the back of the head by the woman’s son. The victim was then tied to a chair and tortured with a bladed weapon with the intention of forcing him to reveal the ATM password. Once the information was obtained, 2,900 euros in cash were stolen from the victim. Subsequently freed by the woman and her son, the 36-year-old was found on the street in a confused state by the police with flashy lights. Giovanni Carnovale had already been sentenced to 2 years, 11 months and 10 days for the same matter.
