A person has been arrested in Manchester for the murder of Gloria De Lazzari, 45 years old, originally from Roncade (Treviso) and resident in Great Britain for about ten years, found suffocated to death in the night between Sunday and Monday.
The newspapers of the Nem Group, Il Gazzettino, Corriere del Veneto and Corriere della Sera, reported the news.
The arrest
James Morton, 33, resident in the same neighborhood as the victim, ended up in handcuffs. The man had already been convicted in the past for killing his sixteen-year-old girlfriend during extreme sexual intercourse nine years ago.
The hearing to validate the arrest took place on Thursday, while the man will have to appear before the Crown Court. The British police have opened two channels, one by telephone and one online, inviting the population to provide any information useful to the investigation.
The family and the lawyer
The news arrived in Italy with a phone call to the victim’s mother, Daniela. Gloria’s ex-husband and the lawyer Gabriele Annì are in Manchester, in contact with the detectives following the case and with the Farnesina.
Gloria’s story
After a first marriage, Gloria De Lazzari lived in Puglia, then moved to Great Britain where she remarried and worked as a rider. A life rebuilt abroad, tragically broken in circumstances still under investigation by investigators.
