Robert Mancini is the probable new coach ofSaudi Arabia: according to the Arabic sports newspaper Arriyadiyah, the day after the blue coach’s resignation. In an article relaunched by Arab News, the newspaper cites anonymous sources according to which Mancini could succeed the Frenchman Hervè Renard at the helm of the Sons of the Desert, as the Asian national team is nicknamed.
The Arab daily recalls that, if the news is confirmed, Mancini will become the 49th Saudi Arabian coach, the 19th European and the first Italian. The first commitment will be, from November, the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in which the Saudis will have to contend with Jordan, Tajikistan and one between Cambodia and Pakistan.
