A last piece and then the puzzle of the Final of Mesontavola will be complete. RTP’s show cooking turns to the decisive phase with the last semifinal which will be broadcast on Tuesday at 9 pm (he replied the same day at 11.10 pm, on Wednesday at 11 and 16 and Saturday at 9 pm). The last episode promoted Mario Milano, an entrepreneur of the thermohydraulic sector, who with his bidding with mussels and potato cream won the victory and the direct passage to the final of October 14, where Liliana Tomasello (winner of the first semifinal) already awaits him).
Under the supervision of chef Paolo Romeo, the competitors had to measure themselves with a simple but insidious ingredient: the potato. To contend for the place in the final, in addition to Milan, there were Antonella Lo Castro, professor of the classical high school “La Farina” and Claretta Marchese, an accountant with a passion for the stove and a contagious smile.
To decree the verdict was, as always, the technical jury led by Salvatore De Maria – also a conductor together with the journalist Valeria Zingale – and made up of Alberto Palella (Confesercenti and creator of Messina Street Food Fest), by Professor Nico Cicero of the University of Messina, by Antonella Ruggeri owner of the “Court of the Mari”, by the bakery Francesco Arena, by Rosario Madaudo delle Cantine. Madaudo and Roberto Antonuccio, winner of the first edition. A verdict for the photo finish with three competitors in four points, with Mario who imposes himself on only two lengths. The taste and presentation rewarded the entrepreneur.
Now as mentioned, the last semifinal with the last three competitors competing with a pesto. The precision made a characteristic stretch, in the operating room as in the kitchen: so Paolo Lo Curto is convinced that he can convince the jury. To bar the pace will find Mariafrancesca Gioè and Floriana Riso, the winner of the repechage. Fierce women who have no intention of taking off their apron at the decisive moment of the show.
The usual jury will join Maria Pia Madaudo of the Cantine Camporè and Valeria Tomaso, of the Anasita estate.
«Here we are – comments Saro Gugliotta, one of the fixed presence in the jury – was a season full of ideas and surprises. A semifinal is still missing but Messintvola has shown that he is more than a culinary race. It is a splendid way of talking about our cuisine, our tradition and good and healthy food. That must be rediscovered and valued, because let’s remember the food is health ».
