This year too, the UniXMe university association wanted to rediscover the most authentic meaning of Christmas: that of solidarity. For the seventh consecutive year, young university students promoted a food collection in favor of the Sant’Antonio canteen, which welcomes and refreshes around 50 families in difficulty every day.
«Our acronym means Universitari per Messina, but also United for Messina», explains president Alessia Paterniti. «A mission that we carry out by promoting sharing and respect starting from the university desks».
Among the initiatives there is also a toy collection, as Marco Prestipino, responsible for charitable activities, says: «We also decided to donate smiles, collecting and sanitizing toys intended for semi-boarding school children».
Ester Riolo, coordinator of the association, closes: «These actions tell the true meaning of our commitment: to go beyond academic life and embrace a Messina that is in need, that should not be forgotten».
A strong signal from a generation that chooses to be there, with civic conscience and a spirit of solidarity.
